Cappasity is planning on adding an NFT service to its platform

Soon every Cappasity user will be able to create an Immersive NFT

Non-fungible tokens, or NFTs, are the latest cryptocurrency phenomenon to go mainstream. This year, one of the most established auction houses, Christie’s, sold the first-ever NFT artwork — a digital collage by Beeple, for an astonishing $69.3 million. NFTs have suddenly become the latest craze in the art world.

So, what exactly are NFTs?

In the shortest version, NFTs transform digital (or physical) works of art and other items into irreplaceable, traceable assets that can be traded via blockchain for cryptocurrencies, mostly Bitcoin and Ethereum.

The mechanism of NFTs is quite complex, but nevertheless, they have grasped the attention of artists, musicians, influencers and other creatives. Right now, many investors are spending large sums of money on NFTs, contributing to the steep growth of this new market. For instance, the first tweet from Jack Dorsey, CEO of Twitter, was sold for almost $3 million, and a decade-old “Nyan Cat” GIF for $600,000.

Clearly, NFT mostly helps creatives to monetize their work. Every month we see active development of the industry. So what does Cappasity want to add? A third dimension! Try to envision intellectual property protection for a sculpture or a complex art object with NFTs, as they are today. Do you want the possibility to interact with those objects, or to look at a flat picture? The answer is obvious. And this is where the Cappasity platform comes into play.

What is the Cappasity platform now?

Cappasity makes it easy to create and integrate immersive content based on 3D/AR technologies. Innovative experiences increase user engagement, brand awareness, and sales, while AI-powered analytics provide insights into how users view content online. 3D demonstration creates an unforgettable experience that can be used for product presentation, sales, interactive exhibitions, and auction houses. We work with many enterprise e-commerce companies. You can read about us on our company blog on Medium.

Thus, hundreds of thousand images are stored on our platform in the 3D View format. As NFTs became popular, our e-commerce partners started to come to us for a tool to sell digital fashion items. We thought that it was really time to resume our work on 3D copyright and give our clients the ability to create NFTs with resale rights. Now we have launched R&D on the integration of this new service into the platform. It will be called IMMERSIVE NFT.

Perhaps you already know that a few months ago we released a mobile 3DShot app, that allows you to digitize any object and turn it into an interactive image in the 3D View format. Marketplaces are using it right now. But what will happen if we give everyone an opportunity to create an Immersive NFT? What happens if everyone can shoot their piece of art or any object with the 3DShot app and will instantly be able to protect it by creating an NFT? Here at Cappasity, we believe that mass adoption of NFTs is the future.

In the meantime, while we are working on this service, you can visit the 3DShot website and try to shoot something yourself —

At the moment it is too early to talk about the release date of this service. We are negotiating with our business partners, preparing the documentation and taking into consideration all the wishes from our potential customers.

But we believe in the digital economy and that the future lies with new services and products.
