How to avoid the most common mistakes when shooting with 3DShot

If you’re about to create immersive content with the 3DShot app, look through our tips first to avoid the most common shooting mistakes. These easy-to-follow instructions will help you produce high-quality 3D Views with just a smartphone.

Watch this video tutorial for a deeper understanding of the process:

Mistake № 1. Changing the distance between the object and the camera while shooting it.

Tip: To avoid the 3D View getting cut off, keep a consistent distance between the object and the camera as you move around the object.

Mistake № 2. Raising the smartphone camera too high.

Tip: To prevent jerky rotation, don’t raise your camera too high, this will degrade the accuracy of the calculations.

Mistake № 3. Shooting a small or symmetrical object on a uniform surface.

When shooting a small or symmetrical object on a uniform surface there might be a tracking error.

Tip: It’s better to shoot the object on an uneven surface. Surrounding objects should be in view within the frame so that the tracking algorithm can determine the trajectory.
