Jewelry brands have been looking for technologies that would make virtual try-on possible for a long time. All the solutions, however, came up short.

Some solutions let clients take a static 2D image of their hand and drag-and-drop the ring onto a finger just like they would in a basic photo editing program. Needless to say, the experience leaves a lot to be desired. Others don’t even allow the customer to use a picture of their own hand, and instead offer a generic mannequin-like hand graphic.

The Cappasity Immersive Experience R&D Lab came up with an alternative.

Though still a work in progress, the Virtual Try-On for rings is completely interactive and very closely simulates the in-store shopping experience. It draws on the capabilities of the Cappasity platform, utilizing 3D content that is both photorealistic and easy to create.

Not only will Virtual Try-On elevate the customer experience, it will also provide brands with the opportunity to inspire the creation of a lot of UGC. Imagine influencers trying on rings from Jennifer Lopez’s extensive engagement ring collection. Or maybe it’s the ring from a recent royal engagement that they’d want to try on instead. The possibilities are endless.

The Immersive Experience Lab will continue to perfect the solution. Stay tuned for more updates!
