According to Digital Commerce 360’s 2023 Performance and Conversion Retailer Survey, investments in the customer experience, e-commerce, and digital marketing top the list for sellers in 2023. Most retailers focus on customer experience improvement this year

71% of the survey respondents said that they’d be looking to invest more in the customer experience in 2023 than 2022. Personalization (51%), web design (45%), and customer service (45%) followed in terms of priority. From a technology standpoint, retailers expect to increase spending levels on the following:

  • Mobile commerce: 47%

Product pages and imagery are among the top priorities for retailers when improving online conversion rates

Retailers see a variety of on-site tactics as being important for the improvement of conversion rates. For 44% of them, that starts with key page upgrades, better product information (42%), and more sophisticated product imagery (37%). 7% of the surveyed mentioned that investing in Augmented Reality is important when it comes to improving conversion rates.
