Looking back on 2022: Cappasity Roundup

The Cappasity team congratulates all of you on the upcoming holidays. We’re excited to share what we’ve done throughout 2022 and our plans for the next year. Before we move on, we want to say a big thank you to all of Cappasity’s clients and partners. We put a lot of time and effort into each new feature and project, and your feedback has helped us improve our solutions and outline a plan for future development.

Here’s what we’ve done throughout 2022:

• Launched Mertsy SDK: Mertsy SDK is the first solution that allows marketplaces and classifieds to integrate 3D capturing and displaying technology into their apps. Mertsy SDK will be continuously improved with new features. For example, the solution will offer virtual fitting room functionality, advanced filters for content quality improvement, and an NFT creation module.

• Enhanced the 3DShot app with new powerful features, including AI-powered background removal, ultra-wide camera support, and a background blur feature. Thanks to AI-powered background removal, you can make your smartphone-generated 3D Views look very similar to immersive content produced in photo studios for professional stores.

The ultra-wide camera allows for more of a scene to be captured, so now you can create your 3D Views staying closer to the object, which is extremely useful for shooting cars and real estate. And the background blur feature helps you make your 3D content created with a smartphone more high quality and professional looking.

• Made a massive upgrade of the Easy 3D Scan software: our R&D team has developed the new version of the E3D data format integrated into Easy 3D Scan, so that we could make the software more efficient.

Now Easy 3D Scan allows you to create a 3D View from multiple videos to show an item from different angles of perception. So there’s no need to use third-party video editors to create a multi angle 3D View.

What’s more, the software lets you import a video or PNG files with a transparent background and change the background color of your 3D View locally. We’ve also improved H.265 codec support, so now video decompression is much faster. On top of that, our R&D team has enhanced AR hologram creation mode.

• Added the ability to upload 360° photos to the Cappasity platform: this feature is extremely helpful for demonstrating car interiors and real estate in the interactive format.

• Worked on our upcoming solution for creating NFT-based loyalty programs: our team has developed a Cappasity NFT. Unlike other digital assets, Cappasity NFTs contain not only photos and videos, but also text like a brand’s history; immersive content, including 3D/3D View visualization, AR holograms, and virtual try-on; and VIP perks and benefits, like personalized discounts, invitations to events, priority access to new product launches, and more.

Brands can add new content to NFTs even after their customer gets the token, which allows them to use Cappasity NFTs as a new customer communication channel. We’re actively preparing our solution for the official release on the Ethereum blockchain. It will be available in the next few months.

• Сreated Cappasity subscription programs with unique value for CAPP utility token holders. Those who have a certain amount of CAPP tokens on their crypto wallet can get free access to Premium and Business Cappasity subscriptions. We also now offer a lifetime access to our Business plan for SMBs and a 30% discount on our services for enterprises. We plan to further develop our utility token within the Cappasity ecosystem.
• Launched multiple outstanding partnerships. For instance, a graduate from New York Academy of Art used the 3DShot app for digitizing American actress Brooke Shields in 3D and sculpting her portrait based on her digital twin. This project perfectly demonstrated how immersive technologies can benefit a creator.

We also partnered with IFA Paris to provide their students with free access to 3DShot and help them create immersive portfolios of their fashion designs to get a valuable competitive advantage in the labor market.

Our long-term partner Sheriff Projects used the Cappasity solution to digitize Marine Serre’s Fichu pour Fichu collection in 3D so that the House could deliver the best possible immersive shopping experience to their online consumers.

This year, some of our customers found new smart uses for our 3D digitizing solution: the Gonstead Chiropractic Society created interactive 3D tutorials with chiropractic techniques using Cappasity and the luxury virtual fashion marketplace Special Items chose us to create 3D Views of virtual fashion pieces.

This year we focused on improving our products to prepare for their global expansion in 2023. We’re planning to raise a new VC round, opening more offices and launching the global marketing of our 3DShot app and other Cappasity solutions.
