The Gonstead Chiropractic Society partners with Cappasity to create interactive 3D tutorials

One of the most effective ways to help learners obtain a new skill and develop sustainable knowledge is to provide them with interactive 3D tutorials. This is exactly what the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia) does in their educational materials for international chiropractic colleges and students. The Society has partnered with Cappasity to digitize their chiropractic tutorials into interactive 3D View format. Let’s dive into details.

The Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia) Inc. was founded in 1990 to promote the Gonstead System of Chiropractic in Australia through undergraduate and postgraduate educational courses, seminars, newsletters, journals, and research. The Gonstead System is one of the most advanced methods used by chiropractors to correct spinal misalignments, joint dysfunctions and subluxation complexes. The chiropractic technique involves hands-on manual adjustments, in addition to other instrumentation.

No wonder that performing a Gonstead adjustment requires a great deal of skill and knowledge. In order to help chiropractors and chiropractic students gain proficiency and a true understanding of the technique, the Gonstead Chiropractic Society has created interactive 3D tutorials with the help of the Cappasity solution. The tutorials demonstrate doctor and patient set-ups to give very specific chiropractic adjustments to the spine. Unlike flat images and videos, Cappasity’s 3D View format is fully interactive: it allows learners to change the angle of perception, zoom in and explore the demonstrated set-up in detail.

With Cappasity, it’s easy to create interactive tutorials even when it comes to demonstrating complex techniques like chiropractic. To create an interactive 3D tutorial, you need to shoot a video in a standard photo studio. If you want to show the process from different angles of perception, use a turntable. Once the video is ready, you digitize it with Easy 3D Scan, and the software converts it into an interactive 3D View format. To see how the Gonstead Chiropractic Society (Australia) created interactive 3D tutorials with Cappasity, watch the video below:

The resulting immersive tutorial can be embedded into a company’s website page. All the 3D content is also stored in your Cappasity account, so you can also share the link to a particular tutorial with the learners. The Gonstead Chiropractic Society, for instance, has included links to Cappasity 3D Views in its GONSTEAD CHIROPRACTIC, a series of educational eBooks via the Apple Education platform for use in many international chiropractic colleges, their students and practicing Chiropractors around the globe. Interactive tutorials are also available for the registered community on the organization’s website.

“Our company’s mission is to be the standard of immersive technologies for any industry, including medicine. Cappasity has developed a scalable solution for the creation and integration of 3D/AR content. We’re happy to work with the Gonstead Chiropractic Society and help them integrate 3D technologies into the education process,” comments Kosta Popov, Cappasity CEO.

“Never before has chiropractic adjustment technique been presented in any format other than still, two-dimensional photographs. Cappasity has enabled the Gonstead Chiropractic Society of Australia to produce the most comprehensive chiropractic resource, with 360-degree spin images, allowing the reader to move and zoom into the image to examine and appreciate in detail the specificity of the Gonstead chiropractic adjustment,” says Dr Toby Fraser, the President of GCS Australia Inc.
