Overview:

Providing accessible materials is not only important, it is mandatory for students with disabilities and those with IEPs in place. With Capti Voice, it is easy to distribute materials to your students discreetly, as well as provide them with the support tools they need. Our newest release makes sharing materials easier, and gives educators access to view students’ notes.

By sharing playlist, educators can help students stay organized and ensure their content is readily available and always easy to access. No need for students to bring home every book in their desk or locker. Having access to the reference and customization tools personalizes students’ content and encourages student independence and ownership. With Capti, students can focus on their strengths while completing their work to the best of their abilities!

Improved Sidebar:

We now offer a new easy-to-navigate right sidebar. This sidebar includes the following tabs: Search, Notes, and Share.

  • The Search tab allows students to search in the track text, as well as in all notes (Highlights, Word List, Bookmarks, Edit Boxes, and Comments). Teachers can access students’ work by filtering the notes made by students of a particular class, or even by a specific student. By accessing individual students notes you can see their responses on worksheets, obtain a better understanding of the students vocabulary, and check for comprehension.
  • The Notes tab will open a list of all your notes within a track which includes; Highlights, Word List, Bookmarks, Edit Boxes, and Comments. Teachers and students can sort by each of these, plus teachers have access to their students’ notes. Additionally, all of these interactions can be exported into a new track or file.
  • The Share tab makes it easier to add or remove the students and faculty from viewing the playlist. Capti will now automatically assign “editor” permissions to faculty and “viewer” permissions to students (Note: these permissions can still be configured in Admin > Playlists, and the share option will only be visible in playlists created with the Access set to “By Invitation”). This makes sharing a playlist much quicker and enables the teacher to see who has access at a glance.

Expanded sharing options:

  • Until now, only faculty and teachers in an organization could share tracks with students. We now offer a shareable link that can be used by both students and educators. Organization members will be able to get a link to a specific page in a Track and send it to other organization members. Users can insert the link into a Google Doc, share it via LMS, or send it in an email.
  • NOTE: To open the link, the user must already have access to the playlist holding that track, so make sure it has been shared with them first.

Coming Soon:

  • Assessments of Foundational reading skills (April)
  • Testing accommodation module (May)
  • Automated Speech Recognition (speech to text)

Key Takeaways:

  • Sharing playlists makes it easier for students to access and personalize their content
  • Having access to Capti’s supports student independence
  • The new sidebar in Capti gives teachers access to students’ notes
