You asked for it and we listened: you can now write on documents and worksheets right in Capti Voice. If you use Blackboard LMS, you can now open Capti directly from Blackboard and import document into Capti. And finally, if you have a long document without a table of contents, you can now search for a phrase to find where you want to read from.

1. Writing on Documents
While you have been able to add notes to documents in Capti, you could only see them in the sidebar. Due to popular demand, you can now write right on top of the documents!

  • Right-click on your document and select “Write here”
  • Type your note in the text box that appears on screen
  • Adjust the text size and move the text box around the page
  • Press play in the textbox to listen to your notes

Shhh… before the year is over, you will be able to export the document as PDF or print it, e.g., to submit as homework.

Note: These features can be used only on documents added in their original layout in Capti online and Capti for desktop. At this time, writing is not available for rich text documents or in iOS.

2. Blackboard integration

Capti is already available in Canvas LMS, and now you can also open Capti Voice directly from Blackboard LMS and import documents from Blackboard into Capti! If you are using Blackboard, students can now easily access Capti’s reading supports.

3. Search for a Phrase in navigation

Until now, you could only search for a one-word keyword in Capti. Now, finding where you want to read is easier than ever! You can now search by phrases when you have a lengthy hard-to-navigate document, e.g., “Chapter 3” to find the spot you are looking for.

  • Click to the navigation search tool (in the lower right)
  • Type in a phrase and press “Enter” to locate the phrase
  • If the phrase is repeated, you can navigate with arrows
