Honey seeps through hexagons,
sextets of geometric crust.
But hexes are words
she whispers in my ear;
syrupy spits of language
that wrap and stick around my tongue.
The queen bee sips
on the tears
that spiral down my chin
as I try to lick
the sugar sticking to my lips.
