Alpha 2.0.0 is here

With the Carbon Design System team officially taking on support for Carbon Web Components, our team has released the alpha version of v2! As promised, this has come with some very exciting upgrades:

• Upgrade to Carbon Design System v11
• Upgrade to Lit v2
• Upgrade to Typescript v4

By continuing to update our dependencies to the latest versions, our team hopes to provide a faster and more stable package for our adopters and bring a better experience to developers contributing to our open source library.

Beta releases

With the upgrade to Carbon Design System v11, the syncing process has started. Our team is fully focused on bringing @carbon/web-componentsto full parity with @carbon/react.

A regular cadence of beta and release candidates will be out with every few components that get updated, which can be tracked in this Github Discussion.

Adopters will have the ability to test components with each Beta release giving the opportunity to find any issues before we fully release v2.

Build once, use everywhere

The upgrades to Carbon Web Components continue on focusing on the adopters need first. With the variety of application teams within IBM and even outside of IBM, Carbon Web Components allows users to choose the framework that they prefer while only building the components once.
