The event brought disruptive high-tech companies to students in NTU Singapore

On the 22nd of March, NTU Student Union initiated a catalyst program that brought the future of work right at the doorstep of Nanyang Technological University (Student Activity Centre). The event was the first of a series of Future of Youth Summits in Singapore, with the first being championed by NTU Student Union.

We were invited to speak at the event and to enlighten students on how NewEra is playing a role in Carbon Reduction!

Andy Tan, NewEra Founder addressing NTU students on “The Truth behind Carbon Reduction — Uncovered and Untrusted”

In the current market, carbon credits are a tradable commodity, but there are many hoops one has to jump through in order to earn it. And this is why individuals like us or small companies find it difficult to own Carbon Credits despite of doing Green Campaigns. Consequently, they leave doing such activities as there is no incentive for them!

The red tape makes trading in this commodity both cumbersome and expensive — these rules effectively cut out all private individuals, which is a major point of contention in the battle to combat climate change.

NewEra’s platform makes carbon trading as easy as buying something online.

We explained the students, how our simple formulas ensure individuals get their green activities certified in the blink of an eye and “encash” their carbon credits into NERA tokens. While this may take months for B2Bs or others interested in carbon trading, NERA tokens offer users faster transaction times in which to claim their benefits.

Finally the students at NTU realized that NERA offers people a previously inaccessible market, available to anyone who wants to promote green living and with the ability to gain rewards from doing so.

We encourage the next batch of innovators, entrepreneurs and future leaders to look at disrupting social issues and problems. Such disruptions can be double rewarding, as it is a big market and positive to our world.
