CGRID Behind the Scenes: The Team Working to Create a Carbon Neutral World
The team behind Carbon Grid Protocol, a blockchain-based economic framework created to reward blockchain networks and DApps for offsetting their carbon footprint, is a group of veterans with a united hope to help the world combat climate change.
Andy Tan, CEO of the Carbon Grid Protocol, is an industry expert with 8 years of working experience in the energy market and over 5 years in the IT industry, where he specialised in cloud implementation and software applications. Bringing together his unique blend of expertise and knowledge, he is in a prime position to realise Carbon Grid’s vision. He works with promoting strategic investment and implementation of the Carbon Grid Protocol, as well as regional business development. The Carbon Grid team’s goal is also to accelerate the widespread adoption and awareness of carbon credits by making it transparent and accessible.

“With blockchain, can we start a revolution from the ground up? Funding from green-related funds have often been targeted at companies or organisations as they have a mandate to maintain accountability of funds. However, with a trust protocol that even an individual can participate in, can the funds be channelled to support a movement amongst the masses instead?

Joined by the same strive to decarbonise blockchain and reduce carbon footprint are Andy’s co-founders Leonard Ng and Sharon Paul, COO and CSO of Carbon Grid Protocol respectively.
Leonard lends the team his 5 years of experience in technology implementation and project management. Using his resourcefulness, he focuses on optimising the technological stack and seeks subject matter expertise to deliver an optimum blockchain platform on an interactive network.
Contributing to the Carbon Grid Protocol with her expertise and entrepreneurial heart is Sharon, who has over 4 years of experience in launching digital ventures. The co-founder of Cipher Ventures, a digital assets advisory and venture studio, she also co-founded a listing portal in the events sector and a web/mobile development agency.
The co-founders are backed by a strong executive team, all capable veterans in their own right:
Elvin Li, CTO, with a wealth of experience as CTO in various companies designing and redeveloping infrastructures, he oversees and implements technological aspects of the Carbon Grid Protocol.
Anna Duong Vu, CPO, with more than 15 years in software development and a demonstrated history of developing and transforming software development team.
Michael Luong is green energy specialist with 25+ years of experience in product and program management in Europe, USA, and Asia. Michael advises Carbon Grid Protocol team on operative and product development matters, which includes ways to measure and track CO2 reduction on Carbon Grid Protocol platform.
Matthias Gelber, Environmental Chief Officer and 2008’s Greenest Person on the Planet. He is a speaker who actively campaigns for Carbon Grid Protocol in his personal and professional capacity.
Alex Pham, CFO, brings more than 15 years of experience in finance and operations. He focuses on promoting strong and flexible strategic thinking to enhance profitability and creating solutions.
