CGRID — The Token of Choice for the Carbon Grid Protocol

Thank you for all your support in the Carbon Grid project and the belief in our cause to create a carbon neutral world. We are immensely grateful to have you with us on this journey.
I would first like to introduce a little bit more about our project and CGRID, our ERC-20 utility token. Carbon Grid aims to accelerate buyers’ awareness and adoption of carbon credits, and CGRID is the token of choice for processing and facilitating transactions in the ecosystem.
Our CGRID token dynamics will also provide compelling economic incentives for market participants to achieve and maintain carbon neutrality. Our team’s ultimate goal is to promote the widespread adoption of carbon credits in blockchain as a valuable and readily tradable asset class.
I hope that through widespread adoption of our Carbon Grid Protocol, it will put us one step closer to combating climate change. And that process begins with the purchase of CGRID tokens. We wish to target like-minded people who also aspire to be more environmentally responsible.
Whether you are a blockchain developer, retailer, small businesses or an individual, you would find that our token gives you a whole array of benefits within the Carbon Grid ecosystem:
· CarbonScan.io — a decentralised smart contracts platform for blockchain network and DApp developers to monitor their estimated carbon footprint, and offset it by purchases of carbon credits as part of the transaction fees.
· CarbonSDK — a development framework for DApps for third parties to use its framework and encourage buyers’ adoption.
We already have a DApp in the making called CarbonFolks, where the masses can record their green initiatives and get rewarded with CGRID, which can then be spent at our partner retailers on the platform, all echoing the same eco agenda. And you can only expect our open-source developer tool kits to fuel so much more innovation for the green movement.
Fees and Emission Offset Payments
CGRID can be used to purchase carbon credits to ensure every transaction is carbon-neutral, and to offset the carbon footprint of transactions. CGRID holders can use the tokens to access the Carbon Grid platform and make payments for fees such as transfer transactions, add items such as listing projects or data to the ledger.
Staking and Delegated Staking
For the purposes of governance, transparency and performance of the network, Carbon Grid has a nodes system in place. This pertains to policy and regulation of the network, membership, token issuances and to approve changes to the platform codebase. Token holders can choose to stake their CGRID to be part of the validator network and gain a portion of the validation fees.
As part of the Carbon Grid community that continues to support have a direct involvement in the growth of the ecosystem, CGRID is designed to reward and incentivise with a wide array of utility functions for those who recognise the importance of eco efforts.
