Business in the front, party at the back

Have you ever heard the phrase “work hard, party hard”? We at Carbono feel like there should be time for both.

During this year’s first two Quarters, we have really worked on achieving a lot of growth and learning. We developed and improved proccedures, workflows, hired new people to the team, and made overall adjustments to the way we get things done.

Fortunately, these actions have led us to great results. With these results, we were able to provide better working conditions for our team such as better equipment, facilities, and benefits.

So, with this in mind, we let ourselves have time to enjoy as well. We have weekly meetings where we have some fun exercises to develop our teamwork skills, have some beer and snacks; on the last Thursday of every month we have a get-together after office which we mostly spend at local bars and pubs, but also intend to visit movies, pool, and different cultural spaces. Actually, the location of our office in Monterrey provides great variety of options for us to visit just a few blocks away.

This past group meeting we had a “Show-off”, or talent show. It was AMAZING! Several people had the chance to show some of their personal talents, such as music, poetry, and drawing/sketching. We like to have these kind of activities so we can get to know each other besides being just teammates. Why? Because we like to give ourselves the chance to develop in different aspects of our lives. Also, stay tuned for the second part of the Show-off.

Do you think it’s important to have time to party? Give it a thought. It makes all of us come together, get comfortable being around each other (knowing it’s not all just work), we know each other better, and most importantly: we look out after each other. This is teamwork, baby!
