Changing culture, changing lives

On past articles, I’ve described the importance of company culture and its advantages in over-all productivity. But maybe we’re missing the most important perspective in all of this: the people.

Culture not only helps companies align people with their objectives, but it also helps people with their lives. This will lead people through changes that will unleash a new perspective, mindset, skills, and passion. As long as people fulfill their needs and find their passions, they will become better persons too. These developments will allow us to get a better connection with our motivation and needs.

Culture is becoming an increasingly important feature for employees, at least for Millennials. “The way high-performing organizations operate today is radically different from how they operated 10 years ago. Yet many other organizations continue to operate according to industrialage models that are 100 years old or more, weighed down by legacy practices, systems, and behaviors that must be confronted and discarded before true change can take hold.” (Deloitte, 2017)

Is your job changing your life? I mean, as in improving? Let’s hope it is. If not, you should really re-consider improving your current conditions or activities at work or even start looking for a new one.

Now more than ever, companies are considering their people as a real source of growth, and people are considering their jobs as a source of happiness in their lives. Yes, the turnover rate is higher than it was before, but it’s due to the fact that employees are constantly looking for a workplace that they fit into, that really supports them, and in which they can really thrive with passion.
