Written interviews with NFT projects on the Cardano blockchain.

Today’s Cardano NFT project is characterized by mesmerizingly detailed art narrating a story through an everlasting digital tapestry that evolves through time: aeoniumsky.

The previous guest was an NFT marketplace that can be perceived a bit like a CNFT aggregator that wants to elevate Cardano above other blockchains.

This initiative is a point of reference for NFTs on Cardano and every week or two we will invite someone to answer some questions and give us an update directly from within the Cardano community.

Hey, glad to have you here. Tell us something about yourself, where are you from, what is your background?

Thank you very much for inviting me on. When it comes to aeoniumsky, I like to keep a bit of mystery and prefer to remain anonymous.

However, I can share that my professional background lies within the creative sector.

Tell us about aeoniumsky. And why have you chosen the Cardano blockchain for your project?

To grasp the essence of aeoniumsky, it’s essential to explore the origins of the name. It originates from the Greek word “aeonium,” which signifies ageless or limitless, combined with “sky” to evoke the idea of an infinite and never-ending expanse.

This name directly aligns with the project’s artistic theme: an endless illustration that continues indefinitely. Each illustration or “BLOCK” seamlessly links to the one before it in the series, creating an everlasting digital tapestry that evolves through time.

Cardano was an easy choice. I had been in the crypto space and had been following multiple chains prior to launching in 2021 but I was most impressed by both the technology and the sense of community Cardano had supporting it.

As a digital artist, how have NFTs influenced your work?

As a digital artist, most of my earlier work had to cater to a commercial angle, and I often found myself navigating a somewhat rigid creative process to meet those demands.

What’s genuinely liberating about the NFT space is that it’s given me the opportunity to be authentically myself, sharing my unique style and vision with the world without limitation

Your artwork has the peculiarity of being large in size and very detailed, can you share something about the workflow? How do you come up with the ideas? Are there any other artists who had an influence on you?

Process wise it’s quite a journey! Everything kicks off in Illustrator, where I sketch out the foundation for each illustration. Once that step is finished, I break down the illustration into separate layers for animation and then import it into After Effects. After animating it, I export it to Photoshop to create the final GIF version.

The concepts and symbolism behind each “BLOCK” are deliberate and connect back to the idea of a digital tapestry I previously mentioned. The visual identity of each “BLOCK” serves as a snapshot in time, encapsulating themes like ongoing events in the crypto world, personal memories, and life experiences. Simultaneously, every “BLOCK” must harmoniously link together to narrate a comprehensive story as a unified illustrated composition.

Artistic Influences: Jean Giraud, Salvador Dali, M.C. Escher.

Thank you kindly for your time. Any closing comment? Where can people find out more?

It’s been a pleasure! I’d like to highlight an exciting opportunity for those who may have missed out on collecting Series 01. You have a chance to win the entire Series 01 Collection in the Grand Treasure Hunt.

To claim this prize, you’ll need to decode the 24 seed words. The first seed word can be found in BLOCK 01, and you’ll work your way up to BLOCK 024 to unlock the wallet. To learn more, please follow me on Twitter, join the Discord server, or visit aeoniumsky.io.

Thanks once again, Patryk
