We’ve reached the end of the first quarter of 2022 and we have made a ton of progress on many of our initiatives.

CARD Airdrop

The CARD user incentive airdrop reward claim window for airdrops #1 and #2 will open on April 8th. The rewards will be claimable for 30 days via the Card Wallet mobile app.

Infrastructure Stress Testing

Infrastructure stress testing continues to be underway as we onboard large numbers of users. Last week, we saw over 2,000 new users onboard. This has increased our concurrent traffic substantially and enabled us to stress test large parts of our infrastructure. The DevOps team continues to monitor and make adjustments as we scale.

Fireside Chat

We hosted our first fireside chat as part of our Web3 Watch series last week. Cardstack Founding Director Chris Tse and HubSpot CMO Kipp Bodnar discussed what Web3 can learn from Web2 . They talked about marketing strategies for Web3, why decentralization matters, composability, and more.

Our next fireside chat will cover personal data privacy with Skynet Labs CEO David Vorick on April 7th, 9:00 AM EDT.

Roadmap Update

Let’s review the significant progress we made against the roadmap in Q1 of 2022:

  1. Named Profile — Complete. We updated this to be represented by [uniqueID].card.xyz. We are excited for users to access their profiles. You can see an example at https://socks.card.xyz/.
  2. Multi-Chain — Delayed. We continue to make significant progress on supporting multi-chain. However, we are focused on solidifying the architecture and infrastructure necessary to support this. In addition, we made the decision to redesign the mobile app in order to support the multi-chain feature set more easily.
  3. Mobile App Redesign — Scheduled for Launch. This was not originally an item on the roadmap, but it became clear through user testing that we needed to complete a more significant redesign to support in-app profile creation, rewards, and multi-chain. This redesign will be launched in the coming weeks. You can see a preview by tapping 10x fast on the version number at the bottom of the settings panel in your Card Wallet app.
  4. Upgrade Gnosis Safe Version — Complete. We have upgraded the wallet to support Gnosis 1.3, which enables us to support cross-chain safe deployments.
  5. Retro Drop — Complete. The retro airdrop is scheduled to occur on April 8th and a test drop occurred on April 1st.
  6. Web3 Catalog — Scheduled for Launch. The Web3 Catalog will be called the Web3 CoOp. The Web3 CoOp will launch in the last week of April — we are currently putting the finishing touches on the UI.
  7. Card Compiler Formula — Complete. The initial version of computed properties has been completed. This is a core requirement for the longevity of the Card SDK/Card Compiler.
  8. Scale Testing — Underway. This was not originally on the roadmap. However, we’ve been testing the scale of the systems. Through our airdrop and reward programs, we are able to quickly stress test our infrastructure.
