Card Pay’s Early Access Program

In preparation for the beta program launch next week, we are completing the final set of features and bug fixes involving Card Pay’s MVP (Minimal Viable Product). Moreover, our application to be included in the App Store was approved. This means that our functionalities and our marketing materials, such as the screenshots shared last week, are in line with Apple’s expectations and policies.

The dApp goes through a more iterative deployment process, where new features are deployed continuously. At the initial launch, the deposit and withdrawal workflow will be live, as well as the workflow to create smart contract wallets that enable the creation and customization of prepaid cards.

We will continue adding features throughout the beta period not only to create an inventory of prepaid cards that can be sold or gifted but also to foster the development of merchants’ safes that can hook directly into commerce protocols. We also aim to develop more visualization of spending and earning activities.

To join the Card Pay Early Access program, we need some important information from you. These details will significantly help us understand our current user base to provide a more focused future feature development and prioritization. Please fill in this form to join.

UPDATE: You can now download the Card Wallet app directly; join our Discord to get the download link and test the app with the support of our community.

Learn More About Card Pay

We have created a new splash page that will allow newcomers to the Cardstack community to learn more about Card Pay, our first user-facing product launch. Our current website listing key information and platform technology will still be live but relocated to secondary pages. We are currently working on a full website design project that will segment our users into different personas and provide them with easier access to the information they need.

Here is the preview of the dedicated page for Card Pay.

Support For Reward Cards

After the launch of prepaid cards — which are based on stablecoins — we will add support for reward cards that contain community currency and other tokens not pegged to USD. Cardstack Token, for example, is a reward token that can be captured in a reward card.

We have been working on its on-chain, off-chain computational structure so that more complex token distribution rules can be encoded without doing it on-chain. This additional capability for off-chain computation is currently in testing on testnet, but it should be ready for incorporation into the user interface of the dApp and the wallet once we migrate all the queries to the subgraphs.
