Who are the Cardstack Ambassadors?

We are very excited to announce the Cardstack Ambassador Program!

Overview

Cardstack ambassadors earn special clout within the Cardstack community and receive an ambassador badge on Discord for the duration of their appointment.

They support the community by pointing members to the appropriate resources, answering questions, and helping out with country-specific initiatives.

However, each Cardstack ambassador has a thematic focus area and goal.

Ambassadors are appointed for 3 months and receive compensation based on an agreed-upon goal/success metric. After each term, an ambassador may be reappointed depending on the needs of the community.

Example Appointment:

• Ambassador Name: @Kieldowlin
• Focus Area: Card Pay Beta Program
• Success Metric: Be a visible member of the beta program; support users by answering questions; help identify bugs and communicate them to the Cardstack Product team. Other areas of focus include coaching and collecting feedback from users as they experience Card Pay for the first time.

Rules

There are some general dos and don’ts for Cardstack ambassadors:

Dos:

• Help the Cardstack team identify areas of improvement and suggest ways to promote the Cardstack name, products, and initiatives.
• Be a vocal advocate for Cardstack; share content (e.g write-ups, memes, tweets) that you think would be useful for the Cardstack community on your personal social media accounts.
• Mention Cardstack in the context of other topics; e.g. if you notice someone talking about NFTs on a social media channel, comment on that post and talk about Cardstack’s approach to NFTs.
• Only speak to community members in public channels; always default to transparency in your communication.
• When in doubt on how to answer a question, ask a Cardstack team member for assistance.
• Avoid all situations that may lead to complaints or result in Cardstack being seen in a negative light.
• Follow the community rules & guidelines.

Don’ts:

• Do not discuss token price and exchange speculation while identifying as a Cardstack ambassador.
• Do not promise special access, treatment, or knowledge to anyone.
• Do not communicate privately with community members while fulfilling ambassador duties.

Terms

Each ambassador will start with a 3-month term.

Compensation: 30,000 CARD.CPXD per term are paid in 3 monthly installments (10,000 CARD.CPXD).

(This is subject to change at any time; the compensation will always be confirmed with the ambassador at the start of their term.)

How to become a Cardstack ambassador

Early next year, we will introduce snapshot.org governance voting. This will enable CARD token holders to submit proposals to become ambassadors. The community can then vote on those proposals — this will be our decentralized way of electing Cardstack ambassadors.

If you are interested in becoming an ambassador, please send an email to ambassador@cardstack.com expressing your interest area, and include a short proposal of what you’d like to achieve as an ambassador during a 3-month term. This way, we can help you submit a formal proposal.
