2023 Project Update: Boxel Composable Development Framework, & Champer Revenue Management Protocol
In efforts to make our products market-ready, we’ve consolidated our vast product lineup under two major product suites: Boxel Composable Development Framework and Champer Revenue Management Protocol.
Boxel is an open-source framework built on the concept of the web’s CSS box model, where developers can use the “box” as the rendering boundary for building fully functional apps.
Boxel’s ability to compose and nest information makes it much more powerful than traditional web design methods. Developers can embed different elements, such as a payment form, within an application itself without the need to redirect a user to a third-party payment portal.
Champer Revenue Management Protocol is Cardstack’s tribute to economist D. G. Champernowne for his work on economic inequality and income distribution.
Champer stands for “Consensus through the Harmony of Analytical Machines Producing Evaluated Results.”
Champer aims to solve the revenue management gap for Web3 businesses by empowering them to monetize their services, & manage their revenue generation and distribution.

How Account Abstraction Enables Automated Payments on the Blockchain
In this article, we discuss the limitations of the current blockchain technology in terms of setting up automatic recurring payments. Unlike traditional banking applications or credit cards, security-focused blockchain technology requires manual signing of transactions using a private key. This can become a problem when a user cannot sign a transaction themselves.
Many Web3 projects, including Cardstack, are working to solve this challenge through a concept called account abstraction, which allows a smart contract to execute a transaction on behalf of the user without requiring a private key-based signoff for each transaction. This will streamline various payment methods such as payroll management, B2B payments, and recurring subscription payments.
