Card Pay: The payment & reward system

How to use crypto the easy way: Card Pay offers an extremely smooth user experience for all kinds of payment-related workflows — from token deposits and prepaid card issuance to biometric payments — via a user-friendly Web dApp and mobile app.

Card Pay dashboard: a Web dApp

  • Token suppliers can bridge their tokens from layer 1 (Ethereum mainnet) to layer 2 (xDai chain) without having to switch between different dApps.
  • Issuers can use their tokens on layer 2 to fund and issue prepaid cards with preloaded balances, which they can sell to customers.
  • Merchants accept those prepaid cards as payment methods for products and services.

Card Wallet: a mobile app

  • Users can keep track of their assets on layer 2, including prepaid cards and reward cards.
  • Customers can make payments to merchants quickly, confirming their transactions via Face ID or Touch ID.

Cardstack is building a decentralized software ecosystem using Web3 technology, blockchain economics, as well as open-source and open collaboration, in order to compete with the tech giants of Silicon Valley. To that end, we ensure that we all share in the same economic value.

Chris Tse, Founding Director of the Cardstack Project, talks about Card Pay — the DeFi payment and reward system.

Cardstack integrates with Chainlink

At Cardstack, we are integrating Chainlink’s market-leading decentralized oracle network into Card Pay — our DeFi payment & reward system.

Chainlink Price Feeds will be used to establish accurate and tamper-proof exchange rates on our platform.

Chris Tse, Founding Director of the Cardstack Project, joined Andy Boyan from Chainlink in an AMA session on May 11 2021, where he answered various questions around Cardstack and specifically the Card Pay product, including: What’s exciting about Cardstack? How does Card Pay work? What is the role of the CARD token? How is Cardstack using Chainlink? And what about stablecoins?

“At the end of the day, people want to use stablecoins to do something. It’s great that we have many types of stablecoins, but they should be more fungible — to be able to pay with any stablecoin that is accepted by a merchant, the same way you can use any currency accepted by Visa.”
