“EDUCATION IS THE MOST POWERFUL WEAPON WHICH YOU CAN USE TO CHANGE THE WORLD” NELSON MANDELA

This statement said by Nelson Mandela hold to be true as CRY is a beautiful example of the same. Starting from just a few individuals, CRY, founded by Rippan Kapur at the age of 25 has made its way to an organisation supported by millions.

CRY- Child Rights and You is a non-profit organisation which intends to make the lives of children who are violated of their rights, safe and nurturing.

This organisation conducted an internship which lasted for a month starting from June 1st 2022 — June 30th 2022 and I was able to become a part of this educating and insightful journey. My experience with CRY was amazing and I would like to share some instances which helped me grow.

We started with the first masterclass on 4th June 2022, it was a welcome session cum an introductory session taken by Anupama Muhuri who is the General Manager at CRY. This session gave a lot of clarity about the purpoose of our internship and the expectations we should reach as competent individuals. I was motivated by the immense change that CRY has bought about with its work towards the greater good for the children.

We were also divided into groups and over the course of this whole internship we were to complete various individual and group tasks. Throughout this internship I learnt many things that helped me gain more confidence in myself and try and be a little more outspoken. This gave me a chance to explore new abilities and oppurtunity to enhance my skills. We also needed to raise funds during week 2–4 , it was my first time participating in a fundraiser and I enjoyed putting myself out there and understanding the main objective of cry — providing underpriviledged children a better future, more deeply.

I personally enjoyed the masterclass about habit building and self care tips fpr well being, hosted by Shivangi Maniar. This meeting helped me to connect with my deeper and more emotional self, which also needs to be given due consideration. This meeting took us through the process of understanding our emotional relationship between our parents and how it develops and gives support to major core aspects of our personality.

Through the end of my internship I came out carrying more skills and gaining more knowledge about bigger problems and how even little contribiution goes a long way. It helped me unlock many abilities I had that I did not feel worthy of showcasing. I am glad and grateful for the enriching experience that I have procured from this delighful journey, to give our best efforts in solving problems bigger than us.
