Sports is a major contributor to economic and social

development. Since its onset, the COVID-19 pandemic has spread to

almost all countries of the world. Social and physical distancing

measures, lockdowns of businesses, schools and other places have

disrupted many regular aspects of life including sports and physical

activity. To safeguard the health of athletes and others, most major

sporting events at international, regional and national levels had been

cancelled or postponed from marathons to football tournaments,

athletics championships to basketball games, cricket, weightlifting to

wrestling and more. The Olympics and Paralympics, for the first time

in the history of the modern games had been postponed and was held

in 2021.The global outbreak of COVID-19 has resulted in the closing of

gyms, stadiums, pools, dance and fitness studios and parks. Many

individuals are not able to actively participate in their regular

individual or group sporting or physical activities outside of their

homes. Under such conditions, many people are less physically active,

have longer screen time, irregular sleep patterns as well as worse diets,

that results in weight gain and loss of physical fitness. The people are

getting frustrated because their whole schedule is messed

up.Low-income families are especially unlucky as they have more

confined spaces that makes it difficult to do physical exercise. There

are concerns that, in the context of the pandemic, lack of access to

regular sporting or exercise routines may result in challenges to the

immune system, physical health.Lack of access to exercise and

physical activity can also have mental health impacts, which can result

in stress or anxiety that many will experience. To go back into their

normal life it’s getting very difficult for them to get back to the normal routine. Its taking time and with more problems in the future like the

increased pollution and covid third wave many are not wanting to go

back to their old routines which is leading to more problems.
