Zoom Wants Employees Back in the Office. Is This the End of Remote Work?

Zoom, the video-conferencing company whose product has become synonymous with remote work, has joined the legions of tech companies forcing their employees to return to the office.

Having previously announced a move to a fully remote model, Zoom now requires staff to come into the office at least twice a week.

Zoom’s about turn is surprising, given how much the company has benefited from ushering in the era of remote work; with their videoconferencing services outperforming incumbents like Skype, Webex, and Google Meets.

Zoom is worth less now than before the pandemic
