That New CV Format Won’t Help You In Today’s Job Market

If you think redesigning your CV is going to get you the opportunities you have been getting rejections for, you have been fooled.

Don’t get me wrong. There is some value in re-writing your CV to make it appealing to certain types of employers. But as a broad strategy for getting a new career opportunity, that system is ancient.

I see it all the time. Maybe you do on LinkedIn too. You see an expert say, “This is the CV format that landed me a job at Microsoft”

Or something like that. But then you look at the actual content of the CV and you find that the person has experience with Apple and some other top companies.

Just imagine that. You have work experience with top Fortune 100 companies and you think your CV format is what landed you the job.

This is also similar to the people who say, “This is the Slide Deck format XYZ startup used to raise $100 million”.

If you believe a startup raised $100 million because of their slide deck, you are more retarded than you think. (I’m guessing you are smart though).

Seriously, think to yourself. An investor looks at a startup and says, “Their slide deck is…
