How to Crack the Psychology of Success Code

If you have ever read the Secret, you will understand that to achieve success in anything you must first believe that you can.

I had felt this truth my whole life even before the Secret came out or at least became well-known. I am not sure how the concept was familiar to me, perhaps it was the many readings of spiritual literature that I became obsessed with after the death of a very good friend.

A few months ago I decided to try my hand at blogging and freelance writing. I have always wanted to be a writer and being laid off from my full-time job as a Legal Assistant was the perfect opportunity to give it a shot.

I was advised that since I had been a Legal Assistant, I should write about legal topics and that would make me out as an expert in the field and bring me clients.

After spending ten years in a law office, this was the last thing I wanted to write about, at least for now. However, I went ahead and did it regardless of how much I disliked it.

I went ahead and set up a website for freelance writing and wrote a couple of posts to include in my Portfolio.

The first couple of articles I wrote both had to do with the Legal and Real Estate fields. I hated this, the whole point of writing was to write about what you are passionate about, and I have to admit that even now I am not 100 percent sure about what that is.

I decided to start another blog where I could write about anything I wanted.

The advice which is everywhere once you start looking was to choose a profitable, popular niche for your writing. This was good advice but for some reason that was very difficult for me and still is.

You Don’t Have to Follow the Crowd

There are a lot of articles about how to write and make money by doing what they did. I think most of these writers are reusing all the same information.

The best thing you can do is pick one for your guru and leave the rest, that is what I have done after many hours of reading the same advice and trying to make it fit into what I wanted.

Why reinvent the wheel when you can just follow the crowd?

My problem is I was never good at following the crowd; I have always had to do what felt right for me even if it was completely illogical which most of the time it is.

You need to do what will make you feel confident. Even if that means breaking free from the status quo.

Someone at some point in time had to do something original, and others liked it. Not everyone practiced the tried and true method of any new venture, and sometimes the idea itself was a first.

As an example when I first started working at the Law office I did not have any experience whatsoever, and there was a co-worker who was training me.

At first, I tried to do everything exactly how she was doing it. I floundered around for about a month just not getting the rhythm of it. Finally, I just gave in to myself and started getting things done in my own way.

Of course, I had to follow the ground rules, but once I started doing things my way I felt much more confident about my situation and a lot less stressed out.

The same holds true in online writing and blogging there are technical elements that you need to include, however the subject matter, delivery methods, and design, are completely up to you.

Be True to Yourself

The most important thing I have found if you want to be successful at anything is to be true to yourself.

I think the chances of failure are much higher if you are trying to be someone else.

The best advice I have read so far is just to start. You most certainly won’t regret it if you just get started and follow your instincts as to how to proceed.

I saw some other good advice the other day, and that was don’t compare yourself to others.

This is so true nothing will make you question yourself and get you bogged down faster than feeling inadequate about what you are offering to the world.

We are all unique and what we have to offer is just as unique.

Visualize Your Dream of Success

If you can’t visualize yourself succeeding at whatever it is that you want to accomplish, then you probably won’t. You need to feel comfortable and secure about your choices,

When you envision an outcome such as money, fame, weight loss, love, or success I truly believe that those things will become real if you believe that they will.

One of my favorite sayings is that “The Universe rearranges itself to accommodate your picture of reality” I don’t know who wrote that, but I think it’s the truth.

I always say, therefore make your picture of reality about good things that you expect for yourself and how to go about getting them.

If you’re having an issue finding the right niche for yourself, and personally I think that is one of the most difficult aspects of this whole new career path. Just write about the things you want to write about, not only will you get better at writing but things will come into sharper focus over time.

Above all follow your instincts, and they will lead you in the right direction.
