(reflective) monthly quote:

“All progress is precarious, and the solution of one problem brings us face to face with another problem.” -Martin Luther King, Jr.

This article is the last community re-cap of the year 2019 and the last one based on the CuraDAO pilot that ended on the 19th of December 2019. So, let’s get to it!

This month CuraDAO has been active on-chain and off-chain let’s start with the on-chain activity:

This month Tiarah de Doelder submitted a project proposal to CuraDAO 🚀. In this proposal, she proposed to create a plant database for Curaçao which will include information (edibility, medicinal, material, ornamental, cultivation and agroforestry use) about native and non-native plants that grow on Curaçao. This proposal will be executed together with two co-contributors: Patrick Scannell & Sherree Acosta.

This proposal passed on 12 December 2019 with 3 votes for (11,15% of the total voting power) and 0 votes against.

Furthermore, the off-chain activities that were planned this month were the CuraDAO years-end conference and the execution of the Youths for Climate Curacao’s passed proposal, which became an End of the year beach clean up. The CuraDAO years-end conference event organized by CuraDAO facilitator Luuk Weber, was scheduled on the 19th of December 2019 with the goal to discover what the CuraDAO is all about, what has been accomplished during the pilot phase and how one can get involved. This event was made possible with funding & community support from DAOfest. Thank you DAOfest!

In addition, there was an end of the year clean up organised by Youth for Climate (YFC) Curacao on the 29th of December 2019. This event-oriented around collecting trash and cleaning the Caracasbaai beach located on the South-east side of the island.

Great work YFC! The planet is grateful :)

Planetary hugs

Lastly, CuraDAO pilot facilitator Ruben Russel is writing an end of pilot learnings report for CuraDAO members, Genesis DAO & other DAO using communities around the world. This will be available soon on the website of CuraDAO https://curadao.io/.

Some CuraDAO statistics (30/12/2019):

Amount of REP holders (members): 43🤩

Holdings: $928 in ETH and $114 in GEN😮

Total proposals: 17😁

Voting participation average in December 2019: 4 out of 43 members (we need to do better than this!😪)
Power distribution in CuraDAO:

Like in the previous re-caps it is important to track & report the voting power (re)distribution of CuraDAO for this month. This is how the CuraDAO voting power distribution pie 🍰 of this month looks like:

December 2019

The CuraDAO pilot is officially over, now what?

P.S: it’s a joke ;)

No future plan, or doing nothing is not an option since our common problems are still being experienced everyday!

To know exactly what we as CuraDAO should do we must first collectively reflect on the positive & negative experiences of every current & new member. And start to shape strong community principals surrounded by detailed measurable goals. More, mas, meer community building (meetups, group calls, collective proposals, comment section discussions).

More to come! but first, let’s enjoy our friends and families as this is essential for the vision of a prosperous society.

An early Happy new year for you! And see you in the next calendar page!

Be on the lookout for a soon to be announced community event in Curacao at the beginning of January!
