The Intern Update: Week Two!

This week was mostly continuing with the project— making a step of progress forward, checking it works, noticing some weird side effect(s) I hadn't realised, dealing with that, and repeating for the next step forward.

I noticed last week that sometimes I wouldn't remember at the end of a day of work, where I had been up to that morning — how much of the progress was from that day, or had been there already. So since last Thursday, I’ve been trying something new to track what I do each day, and its been working pretty well to help my productivity and focus. At the start of the day, I write down the hours I’ll be at work for, and then as I work, I fill in what I did in that hour’s row — and try to get at least one thing written in for every hour. Often, there’s a few points in each hour’s line, but sometimes its only one step, and unfortunately sometimes nothing. Seeing that its 40 minutes through the hour and there’s nothing yet written in the box is quite motivating for me — to focus and try make some kind of progress.

So for this recap, I checked my notebook where I’ve been writing this down — and its great seeing the progress I’ve made during this week. Since last week, I’ve added the matching functioning*, and the option to have the cards flip from a background, to the side with the word / image. I also added the click counter, and reset button, while I had an obstacle or confusion with the main functioning of the game, so that I could still move forward and write down some step of progress :)

*Since adding the flipping function, the matching is acting weirdly. So that’s added to today, and next week’s plan :)
