Lydia from Client Success Team

This series takes a peek into what each of our team does and how they work with the other teams towards our mission of inspiring every person in the world to start selling and buying to make more possible for one another.

Client Success Senior Associate Lydia first started as an intern at Carousell, helping out the teams with preparation for the Carousell Autos 2nd Anniversary festival in Hong Kong. The physical event required lots of prep work with materials for games and workshops, and it was the first time she had to handle an event at such a large scale. What made it so memorable was how happy the users were with the event.

Lydia’s resonance with Carousell’s core value of caring deeply about users — be it app users or merchant clients — helped make her role in the Client Success team a natural progression when she joined Carousell full-time. “I hope my role can help all the clients in solving their problems. A regular day would see me checking in on my clients, who are merchants that subscribe to CarouBiz, to help address any questions pertaining to business growth or general account matters. My team is part of Carousell’s Business Development department, and we onboard new subscribers to CarouBiz, teach them how to use the various seller tools and visibility ads e.g. Bump and Spotlight, and help them achieve success on Carousell,” said Lydia.

The toughest challenge for Lydia’s team is actually the challenges of their clients. “We need to understand our clients to accurately assess their product and business needs, identify their most common pain points, and help to resolve them for client satisfaction. Every day is a different set of challenges as each client is different,” said Lydia.

Reference of the QR Code sticker that merchants can paste at their physical stores to direct customers to their Carousell profile.

“One of my proudest initiatives was creating a QR code sticker for Caroubiz merchants to paste at their physical stores. Any Hong Konger that passes by the shop can scan the code to visit the merchant’s Carousell online store directly and know more about Carousell. This helps the merchants to educate their customers that they can still browse online 24/7 when the physical store is closed.” explains Lydia.

It is this opportunity where she is empowered to initiate ideas that made her decide to join Carousell from her previous role at a travel start-up. She says, “Carousell is a young and dynamic company, which has a good and strong culture with a great mission — To inspire every person to start selling and buying that’s make it more possible for one another. As Carousell is different from traditional companies, it can provide a good environment and lots of opportunities.”

Be a part of our growing team. Find your ideal role, and join us in making more possible, together.
