Derek Zoolander. Walter Mitty. Larry Daley. What do all these movie characters have in common? Well, yes, they were all played by Ben Stiller. My headline kind of gave that one away.
They’re all characters with big dreams who need a little nudge to realize their full potential!
I’ve been a long-time fan of Stiller. That guy can make me laugh. I relate with him. His characters are typically hesitant, witty, a little short on confidence, and often searching for respect. The character that particularly portrays all these traits is Walter Mitty, from The Secret Life of Walter Mitty.
If you aren’t familiar with the movie, or if you’ve forgotten, allow me to give you a brief synopsis. Walter has been working for Times Magazine as a negative assets manager for over a decade. He is risk averse and a daydreamer. He lives a basic, boring life but dreams of being like the adventurous independent photographer Sean O’Connell.
