Five of the best … apps for golf enthusiasts
With the 2016 Masters kicking off today in Augusta, we count-down some of the best golf-related apps to download now, whether you plan on watching the tournament from your sofa or hitting the fairways at your local golf club this weekend.
The Masters Golf Tournament
First up is the official Masters app. Stay up-to-date with all the tournament action, tee times, latest news and player interviews on this official app with push notifications. While you won’t be able to watch live coverage on the app — unfortunately, this is only available in the US — there’s still plenty of rich content to keep you going. The quality of the on demand video is exceptional and the super quick load time means no annoying buffering. The alphabetised player profiles also have some interesting information to keep you entertained during breaks in play.

Sky Go
If you are out and about this weekend and want to watch live play on your phone you’re going to need the Sky Go app; particularly as Sky Sports has exclusive live coverage of the first two rounds. As regular users of the award-winning app have come to expect, the Sky Go app does exactly what it says on the tin; and you can watch buffer-free coverage on your phone or tablet, or both if you’re so inclined, from anywhere. Not a Sky customer? Sign up here.

With listings for over 33,000 golf courses worldwide — including satellite photography and information on each hole — a digital scorecard to keep you on track and data sync with the Swing by Swing website so you can get a detailed breakdown of your play in the clubhouse, the Swing by Swing app is easy to use and a great asset to have on the course, no matter if you’re a beginner or an expert.

With interactive personalised lessons from professional instructors, it’s never been easier or cheaper to improve your swing, no matter where or how you want to learn.

Finally, if you’re more of a ‘coach’ golfer than a ‘6am in the pouring rain’ golfer, Flick Golf! is for you.
