Timelines forming an interconnected non-Euclidean star?

Is time fixed and unchangeable? Can the past be changed? And if so, how does that impact everything? Would it create an alternate timeline? Dimension? Something else?

A shout-out to @Axechucker for the idea and discussion that inspired this brainstorming, especially as it relates to narratives!

If time is a fractal (or non-Euclidean even if it is a linear fractal), how exactly would time travel work? What are the plot elements that would impact fiction writers?

So rather than delving into all the math and science, let’s explore the concepts while trying to make general sense of them — as well as the educated public.

Think of time as a web. What would happen if you took one point of that web and tried to move it to another? If you take one node of the network, it will fold the web, causing tears, and total collapse. If this web were time, it would “follow” and fold in as it were.
