Dodo Point Userbase Breaks 20M, Seeks Synergies in Blockchain Tech Via Carry Protocol

Spoqa, an offline marketing solutions provider, and Carry’s key partner, has just announced that its Dodo Point service has just broken the 20M userbase milestone, just as the company celebrates its 8th anniversary. Dodo Point is Korea’s market leader in the offline rewards industry.
Spoqa’s Dodo Point, which launched in 2012, allows users to collect points at offline retail locations by inputting their phone number, bypassing the hassle of signing up for a membership.
With initial userbase having started at 190K, Dodo Point has shown a 100-fold growth over the past 7 years. Further, with regards to partner locations, it maintained an average year over year growth of 20%, with a presence in around 10,000 offline stores today. Dodo Point’s key userbase are young adults, in their 20’s and 30’s, comprising 70% of the overall userbase. However, it has seen steady growth with users over 40, as it increases its partner locations in areas with heavy business traffic.
Spoqa is looking to maintain its leadership in the offline rewards industry by partnering with Carry Protocol, which listed with Upbit recently, in May 2019. Market anticipation in both the offline, and the blockchain industries regarding this partnership is high.
By integrating Dodo Points into the Carry Protocol ecosystem, users will be given the option to upload their transaction data to Carry’s network. If they agree, they’ll be rewarded with Carry Tokens (Ticker: CRE), which can then be redeemed for merchandise, or be cashed out via an exchange. The plans are to conduct product testing during H1 2019, and to begin rollout in H2 2019.
Spoqa is expecting an accelerated growth in partner locations for Dodo Point once rollout begins later this year. Currently Dodo Point is in use at 10,000 partner locations, with daily transaction volumes averaging 100,000 instances, and monthly transaction volumes hitting 3,080,000 instances. Spoqa expects these numbers to show healthy growth once Carry is added into the picture.
Spoqa and Carry have many things planned through this strategic partnership, including co-marketing, and new business development.
Regarding this, Spoqa Co-CEO Grant Sohn commented, “Consumers needs are becoming increasingly diverse, and are growing beyond the simple shopping experience. In this regard, Dodo Point is gaining traction with many partners in many different industries.”
He further added, “We’re looking to allow users to monetize their data through blockchain technologies, and incorporate that into our services, moving forward.”
