Carswip is a danish company founded in 2016, with the goal of solving a concrete challenge for car dealerships: low-quality photos of the cars for sale.

What We Do

Our focus at Carswip is optimization of photographs for car dealerships. Through optimizing the photos, we help the dealerships make their cars look more attractive in order to appear more professional resulting in more customers as photos are worth a thousand words. This will then allow the dealerships to sell their cars quicker.

Currently, we offer 3 solutions:

  • The first solution includes optimization of 12 photos and costs 125 kr. per car.
  • The second solution includes optimization of 12 photos, as well as removal of objects and reflections, and replacement of the background. This solution is priced at 150 kr. per car.
  • The third solution is a video made from the car dealers photos. This solution is priced at 200 kr. per car.

We deliver these solutions to many car dealerships in Denmark, here among Motorpoint and Sand Jensen. Below is an example of a before and after optimization for Sand Jensen.

Why We do it

At Carswip, we believe that great photos are a vital part of selling anything.

In 2016, over 540.000 used cars were sold in Denmark, along with around 220.000 new cars. This means that the used car market is more than twice the size of that for new cars. And the market for used cars is still growing.

Having this in mind, the competition on the used car market is large, and this is why we believe it is vital to catch the attention of the customers early in the process through crisp high-quality photos of the used cars.

And we’re not the only ones. According to a study by National Retail Federation, 67% percent of consumers say that a high-quality image of the product is very important to them in their selection process when purchasing a product. While this study was based on E-commerce stores, we at Carswip believe that this is just as, if not more important, when it comes to used cars due to the time commitment (particularly if the dealership is far from the consumers home) and large sums involved.

Who We Are

Carswip was founded by Kim Jeppesen and Christian Schmidt in March 2016.

Kim has worked in the car industry his whole life resulting in 13+ years of experience, while Christian co-founded Carswip right after his graduation from Aarhus University. Both of them are very passionate about cars.

Our vision is to be the preferred partner for optimization of photos in the used car sales industry.
