Devcon Action. Cartesi Tower Defense Approaches. Team Update #13
Progress at every angle! Check out what we’ve been up to last month below:
Articles
Last month we released an in-depth look at Oracles, “How to Put the World’s Data on the Blockchain.” In that article, we elaborate on how Cartesi can help oracle services to process large amounts of data sets in a decentralized way for the blockchain. If you missed it, make sure to take a read:
Community
Full on into growing the ecosystem! This week in tangent with Taiwan’s largest digital asset exchange, Maicoin, we hosted a event with 3 keynote speakers and a great panel moderated by our partner, Nceno:
We had a great turnout and were extremely excited about all the community participants. Check out some of the photos from our event below:
Thanks to all who attended!
Devcon
Ethereum’s premier event, Devcon, took place last week in Osaka, Japan. We attended in force both the conference and side events — making waves around Cartesi!
During the blockchain week in Osaka, we also sponsored and spoke at two major side events:
If you were at the event and missed out on the continued presentation, make sure to read our post article here:
If not, here are some photos from the event of us in action.
Throughout the blockchain gaming meetup we met with leading companies, gave insights into easier development and possibilities with Cartesi, as well as new friends and great conversation.
In addition to the blockchain games meetup, we also co-organized the Layer 2 Meetup: Osaka Edition. Missed our talk or forgot to scan for the post event article? Read it here:
Check out these photos of the event!
Video of our Layer 2 event coming soon! What a ride and great conference. See you all at Devcon 6 next year!
Development
We have been focused on building the infrastructure for our first DApp built on Cartesi, a completely decentralized tower defense game and tournament, as mentioned in our Open Source Announcement.
Here are some initial details on the infrastructure we’ve been building and the progress we’ve made thus far towards release:
- The game is a DApp implemented on Cartesi Core and will require the Cartesi Node to be played, we’re in the final stages of building out this infrastructure now.
- The game will work locally from the user’s desktop and will need to be downloaded/installed. We are also working on hosting Cartesi nodes so that user’s can access it remotely if they choose.
- The first version will include a user interface to view tournaments, submit scores and watch the disputes unfold. We’ve achieved an MVP of this in the last month.
We’re working hard to release the game on testnet and are excited to show the power of building with Cartesi soon!
Partners
Last month we announced our partnership with Egretia and their HTML5 Blockchain Gaming Alliance.
Egretia is the world’s leading HTML5 blockchain game ecosystem, aiming at bringing the existing 250,000 developers and 1 billion mobile devices to the blockchain world. Through alliances such as this and the release of our upcoming tower defense DApp, we would like to showcase what can be done with Cartesi so that all members developing new DApps can benefit!
We are looking forward to more partnerships and integrations, make sure to get in touch with us for a chat.
Get in Touch
We are always looking for strategic partners, developers, and established DApps to start using and building with Cartesi.
