August 31st, 2022 —connecting with local communities, and expanding project awareness.

It’s been another month non-stop building and expanding The Blockchain OS across all areas. For all those wondering how Cartesi is breaking new ground, we wrote a featured article in issue 2 of Crypto Mag (one of the most popular print publications covering all things crypto and Web3) that was released this month. If you missed it, make sure to follow all our socials for news on the next one.

August was also a month of celebration! From celebrating Linux’s 31st birthday and all the reasons why we want to bring it to blockchain, we also saw 3 new CTSI listings on CoinTiger, Biconomy, and BitYard — hello, accessibility and welcome all from these new communities to Cartesi.

While July saw the launch of our campaign showcasing the stories of developers pioneering The Blockchain OS, we certainly didn’t stop in August. From developing applications for decentralized public transport systems, a tool to seamlessly govern the rights of digital creations (imagine owning and getting paid each time someone uses your Instagram filter), and a decentralized, trustworthy battleship game, it’s amazing to see the diversity in applications The Blockchain OS is empowering developers to build.

Make sure you’re all up to date with the videos in this series:

Want to take a deeper dive into the developer stories featured? We’ve also released articles as companion pieces to each video. Start with the first one here:

And that’s not all. Keep reading to see what else you might have missed in August…

Development Updates

Want to see what we’ve been working on during this #buildmarket?

We released Cartesi Rollups Alpha 0.5.0, welcoming improved Javascript support and lower-cost DApps for eventual end-users of Cartesi Rollups DApps. For the Cartesi community at large, all these updates not only help make The Blockchain OS even more attractive to mainstream developer communities by reducing barriers to entry but also to mainstream audiences waiting to welcome blockchain technology into their everyday lives.

Come take a look at all of August’s developments in detail:

Recently, to understand the upgradeable smart contract pattern proposed in Ethereum Diamonds (EIP-2535), we started testing these upgradeability features. Core Cartesi contributor Guilherme covered the catches and caveats you’ll encounter when upgrading in an article that caught the eye of the EIP2535 Diamonds author himself. Welcome to the Cartesi community!

Community Updates

Want to learn about the future of all things Layer 2? Co-founder Erick was invited to the CoinGecko podcast to share his insights on Layer 2s, Web3, and how The Blockchain OS is helping developers of all kinds build exciting new DApps. We’re ecstatic to connect with another major community in the Web3 space — thanks for having us on the pod CoinGecko!

Cartesi’s core contributors have also been busy making connections with local communities across worldwide events. From ETH LATAM, where Bruno (Head of Business Development) and Gabriel (Core Developer) chatted everything from business development to rollups, we’ve also teamed up with Pulsar Platform on exciting Web3 research.

Analyzing how female & non-binary communities talk online about Web3, NFTs, Crypto, and DAOs, now we want to show you how to attract a more diverse crowd to this new space. Interested? Make sure to vote for our panel at SXSW 2023 — even if you can’t attend in person you’ll be able to catch the replay posted online!
