January 31st, 2023 gearing up for an incredible year ahead, are you ready?

This month saw a lot of activity around our gaming vertical. From hosting our second Game Developer Community Call (keep reading to hear more!), Cartesi Ambassador Zach and Ultrachess developer Jesse hung out with game developers at ATX Game Makers’s game jam, introducing Cartesi tech to curious builders looking to jump into Web3 game development.

If all this has got you curious about bringing your own game to life on blockchain, Zach also put together an insightful thread on the benefits of using Cartesi tech for game development, take a look.

For those looking to venture into new territory and move from HODL-ing to staking, we’ve also updated our page on Staking Rewards — the leading data aggregator for the crypto staking industry. From increased discoverability, to real-time, transparent and verifiable staking data, listing on Staking Rewards introduces $CTSI staking to the wider crypto ecosystem and enthusiasts willing to contribute to the security and decentralization of Cartesi’s network. If you have any questions about staking, join us over on Discord and our tech team will be happy to help!

Did you know Cartesi has 11 regional communities worldwide? For community manager appreciation day, we celebrated Cartesi community managers across the globe who are working tirelessly to grow and nurture blockchain communities as well as spread awareness about Cartesi tech.

Cartesi is all about fostering inclusion and diversity, welcoming everyone to the blockchain, regardless of their programming languages or spoken languages 😉See our list of current local Cartesi communities here and let’s drive awareness of Cartesi tech across the world together!

With ETHDenver 2023 just around the corner, what better way to get inspired than with a list of exciting projects to #BUIDL? If that list didn’t satisfy you, jump over to our Github repo to explore even more ideas, or better yet, help give builders across the world even more inspiration by adding your own. All PRs welcome!

Welcome to Cartesi

We’re expanding! To lead, support and push Cartesi’s mission to build a better future, we’re thrilled to welcome Nico Shishkin to our technical writing team.

Nico is a technical writer with a diverse background and 15 years of experience in creating technical documentation for a wide range of industries. While working on e-commerce projects in 2018, he became particularly interested in the fields of FinTech and blockchain, investing a significant amount of time in learning about this technology. He has contributed to several FinTech and blockchain projects and has worked on comprehensive documentation portals for developers.

“As a passionate supporter of blockchain technology, I am thrilled to have the opportunity to contribute to Cartesi’s vision of making blockchain more accessible to a wider audience.”

What’s being built on Cartesi Rollups? We let the developers themselves answer that in our second Game Developer Community Call. From a candy crush style RPG mashup on the blockchain, fully decentralized chess, battleship and even a quick update on poker, come catch up with the full replay:

About Cartesi

Cartesi Rollups is a modular execution layer that elevates simple smart contracts to decentralized Linux runtimes. It allows developers to launch highly scalable rollup chains, and code decentralized logic with their favorite languages and software components.

  • Every DApp has its own high-performing rollup chain;
  • No cannibalization of resources from other DApps in Cartesi’s ecosystem;
  • No network gentrification;
  • Enable an entirely new class of DApps that currently cannot run on EVM chains;
  • Preserve the strong security guarantees of the underlying blockchain
