With this new release, we bring lower latencies and lower fees for Cartesi Rollups DApp developers through supporting deployment on Optimism and Arbitrum L2 chains. We’re dedicated to increasing Cartesi tech versatility and performance, and with Rollups Alpha 0.8.0 we invite new developer communities from across the Web3 space to come and experiment with Cartesi’s high computation execution layer.

Developers building with Cartesi tech will also be happy to hear of internal enhancements! We’re bringing better logs to make it easier to debug, and thanks to the optimizations on the emulator’s TLB (Translation Lookaside Buffer), better performance for code running inside the Cartesi Machine.

For the wider community who can’t wait to start using DApps built with Cartesi, faster computations means lower response times! Coupled with deployment on low cost L2 chains such as Arbitrum and Optimism — we’re a step closer to a whole world of decentralized applications that work like the apps we use day to day.

The lowdown on what’s new in Cartesi Rollups Alpha 0.8.0…

  • Support for non EIP-1559 transactions — the type of transaction that Optimism currently supports.
  • Support for lower latencies when deploying on Arbitrum and Optimism
  • Cartesi’s Deployment System and Execution Infrastructure was successfully tested with Optimism using the Echo Python example.
  • First code release for Cartesi’s RISC-V emulator with Microarchitecture.
  • The emulator also brings TLB optimizations and Floating point support.
  • The new release also brings important internal enhancements.

About Cartesi

Cartesi Rollups is a modular execution layer that elevates simple smart contracts to decentralized Linux runtimes. It allows developers to launch highly scalable rollup chains, and code decentralized logic with their favorite languages and software components.

  • Every DApp has its own high-performing rollup chain;
  • No cannibalization of resources from other DApps in Cartesi’s ecosystem;
  • No network gentrification;
  • Enable an entirely new class of DApps that currently cannot run on EVM chains;
  • Preserve the strong security guarantees of the underlying blockchain
