AFRICAN-BASED BLOCKCHAIN/CRYPTO PROJECTS

It is no news that Africa has one of the fastest growing rate for crypto/blockchain adoption. It goes to show that Africa isn't sleeping on crypto. This high rate of adoption has birthed some amazing crypto projects founded by Africans.

In this article, you’ll see some of these African blockchain/web3 projects and what they’re all about.

Let’s get to it...
1. Nestcoin: is an agency founded by Yele Bademosi and cofounded by Joseph Taiwo Orilogbon. Nestcoin builds, operates and invests in crypto-native products for everyday users.

2. Afen Blockchain: is a blockchain company focused on building innovative solutions to drive blockchain adoption in Africa through education. Deborah Ojengbede is the founder and CEO of Afen blockchain.

3. Lazerpay: this is a payment gateway powered by blockchain. Lazerpay provides options for businesses to acknowledge payment in cryptocurrencies. Founder and CEO is Emmanuel Njoku.

4. ABiTrader: this is a pan-African company focused on creating a safe community for crypto enthusiasts to learn about crypto. It is also a platform for trading Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies.
The CEO is Gaius Chibueze AKA Bitcoin Chief.

5. Zenith Chain: is a hybrid blockchain built to increase web3 integrations and power DeFi system for all users. Founded by Jonathan Emmanuel.

6. Loozr: is a decentralized trading and music streaming platform on web3. Founded by Yobo Zorle.

7. Bitsika: founded by Atsu Davoh.
Bitsika is a platform used to make financial transactions of fiat currencies and cryptocurrencies across various African countries. It is also a social media platform that allows users socialize.

8. Wakanda Inu: this is Africa's first community-driven meme coin.

9. Bundle Africa: is a platform used for sending, receiving and saving cryptocurrencies and fiat currencies as well. Founders of Bundle are Emmanuel Babalola and Yemi Bademosi.

10. Streamlivr: is a web3 live streaming and event ticketing platform that utilizes video NFTs to connect creators to their fans.
Founded by Joshua Ehizibue.

11. Sango: is a crypto initiative that is developing a blockchain-based solution for the tokenization of natural resources. It is backed by the Central African Republic government.

12. Metaverse Magna (MVM): is the largest gaming community in Africa which recently raised $3.2 million at seed sale token round. Participants in MVM play games and earn crypto rewards. MVM is a Nestcoin venture.

13. VALR: is a South African crypto exchange where users can buy and sell cryptocurrencies. Founded by Farzam Ehsani.

14. Akoin: is a project launched by Senegalese singer and entrepreneur, Akon. It is a cryptocurrency developed to fuel the dreams of business owners and social activists.

15. BuyCoins: this is a platform for trading crypto with Nigerian official currency, Naira.
Founded by Timi Ajiboye, Ire Aderinokun and Tomiwa Lasebikan.

These are a few of the many existing African blockchain/crypto projects and more are still springing up.
