The BMW 320d is probably one of the sportiest and arguably the best sedans of all time. This particular BMW is one of the first 320d’s that were sold in India — the 2010 E90 320d. The classic BMW functional interiors, low slung and perfect driving position and a very responsive 2.0 turbo-diesel engine equate to one of the best driving experiences known to man.
One such lucky owner chose Cartisan recently for the periodic maintenance of his 320d.
The car had run around 69,000kms and was due for a periodic maintenance service. This service would cover the following items
- Engine oil replacement
- Air filter replacement
- Fuel filter replacement
- Engine oil replacement
- Complete vehicle checkup
- Brakes cleaning
- Foam Wash &
- Scanning
A quotation was provided for the above line items, the customer agreed, and the car was picked up and taken to the closest Cartisan Preferred Workshop where the service was carried out.
The car was parked in the service bay, the bonnet was raised, engine cover removed and the service began.
The air filter was removed and replaced with a brand new air filter from Mann Filters.
Next, the engine oil was completely drained out of the engine block by unscrewing the engine oil drain nut from underneath the engine block.
The oil filter was then removed and replaced with a brand new oil filter from Mann Filters.
Afterwards, the car was raised up with the help of a lift and the fuel filter, which is located underneath the chassis, towards the left side of the car, was removed and replaced with a brand new fuel filter from Hengst.
Then, the wheels were removed one by one and the brake pads were removed from the brake calipers. The brake pads, both front and rear, for this particular E90 were in good condition. Hence, they were only cleaned and placed back inside the calipers.
The car was then lowered and taken for a test drive to confirm that the work was carried out successfully.
