2010 Mercedes-Benz ML-350 (W166) Full Service & Brakes Replacement

Cartisan recently carried out a 2010 Mercedes-Benz ML-350 (W166) Full Service & Brakes replacement in Gurgaon. The customer got in touch with us when he saw the service due and brakes warning on the dash.

The Cartisan Service Team arrived at the customer’s doorstep to carry out an inspection. Upon inspection, it was determined that the following parts needed to be replaced

• Engine Oil
• Oil Filter
• Air Filter
• AC Filter
• Fuel Filter
• Coolant (upto 4 liters)
• Front Brake Pads
• Rear Brake Pads

The ML-350 would also be thoroughly checked up for other damages by the workshop during the course of the service.

Cartisan gave a complete quote for the prescribed work to the customer. The customer accepted, and the ML-350 was picked up by the Cartisan Service Team and taken to the closest Cartisan Preferred Workshop where the service was to be carried out.

2010 Mercedes-Benz ML-350 (W166) Full Service & Brakes replacement

First the car was parked in a service bay and the ML-350 was raised up with the help of a two-post lift.

Filters & Oil Replacement process

The technician pops open the bonnet and the service was underway.

Next air filter which is located near the inlet manifold towards the left side of the engine bay is removed and replaced with a brand new Mercedes Benz W166 air filter.

Next, the technician drains the engine oil out from underneath the engine block by unscrewing the engine oil drain nut. He then removes the oil filter and replaces it with a brand new oil filter.

Fresh 0W-40 Mobil synthetic oil was filled up in the engine block thereafter.

There are three cabin filters for the ML-350; all three of them can be accessed through the engine bay.

Out of these, 2 cabin filters were replaced with brand new cabin air filters and the third one was cleaned and replaced as it was in good condition.

Finally, the technician removes the fuel filter replaces it with a brand new fuel filter. The fuel filter, like for most other Mercedes-Benzs’, is located in the engine bay.

Brake Pad Replacement

The technician removes the wheels and then he proceeds to remove the brake pads from the brake calipers. The technician then replaces the front & rear brake pads with brand new Brake pads from Textar for Mercedes Benz ML350.

One set of front and rear brake pads each are equipped with a brake wear sensor which gives the driver a warning indicator once the brake pads are worn out past a certain limit.

These sensors are also replaced.

Finally the car was then given a thorough wash before being delivered to the customer.
