Cartisan recently carried out a 2013 BMW X3 F25 Full Service. The BMW X3 had clocked approximately 60,000kms and was due for a periodic maintenance which involves the following part replacements

  • Engine Oil Replacement — 5W-40 Fully Synthetic
  • Oil Filter
  • Air Filter
  • Fuel Filter
  • Cabin Filter

The Cartisan team gave the customer a quote for the above-mentioned items. The customer approved the quote and the Cartisan Service Team arrived at the customer’s location in order to carry out the service.

2013 BMW X3 F25 Full Service Procedure

At first, the Cartisan Service Advisor & Technician inspected the BMW X3 thoroughly.

The Cartisan technician then popped the bonnet open and started the service. The technician used a hydraulic jack to lift the car up.

Filter Replacements for BMW X3

The Cartisan Technician first removes the air filter located right on top of the engine block. The Technician replaces the air filter with a brand new one from Hengst.

The oil filter is located on the rear of the engine block, underneath the air filter housing. The Cartisan technician has to first remove the air filter housing in order to access the oil filter. Once that’s done, he unscrews the oil filter from its position and installs a new air filter from Hengst.

Next, the Cartisan Technician removes the fuel filter. The fuel filter is located under the chassis of the BMW X3. The Cartisan technician replaces this fuel filter with a brand new fuel filter from Hengst.

The last set of filters, which are the Cabin filters are located inside the engine bay on the passenger side of the cabin. The BMW X3 is equipped with 2 cabin air filters. The Cartisan Technician removes these cabin filters from their housing and replaces them with brand new cabin air filters from Hengst.

Rear Brake Rotor Installation

The technician removes the rear wheels. The brake rotors for this particular car were worn and the customer wanted to replace them. The Cartisan Technician first unmounts the brake calipers from the brake rotors. He then proceeds to unscrew the brake rotor and unmount it from the wheel hub. He mounts a brand new brake rotor from Meyle PD onto the brake hub after which he mounts the brake calipers with the brake pads onto the new brake rotors.

Cartisan had previously replaced the front brake pads, front brake rotors & rear brake pads for this 2013 BMW X3 F25. Read about it here. You can also watch the video of the same work here.

The Cartisan Technician mounts the wheels back onto the wheel hubs. The technician lowers the car to the ground and checks that all the wheel lug nuts are safely tightened.

Fluid Top-Ups — Engine Oil & Coolant.

Finally, the Cartisan Technician pours approximately 7 liters of Mitasu 5W-40 synthetic engine oil (BMW certified) into the engine block. He also tops up the coolant in the coolant reservoir.

The Cartisan adviser resets the service reminder on the dash of the BMW.

The Cartisan Advisor then takes the car out for a test drive and confirms that the work was completed successfully.
