Cartisan recently carried out a 2013 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI Suspension Replacement. The car had clocked over 70,000km on the odometer. The customer complained of rattling sounds from the front end of the Polo GT.
The customer requested for an inspection from Cartisan. The Cartisan Service Team arrived at the customer’s location and inspected the Polo. The Cartisan Service Team advised the customer to replace the following suspension components.
- Shock Absorber
- Lower Arm Assembly
- Strut kit — Boot & Buufer
- Suspension Mounting
- Link Rod
- Tie Rod End & Ball Joint
- Balance Rod Bushes
Cartisan provided the customer with a quote for the above mentioned parts. The customer accepted and an appointment was scheduled.
2013 Volkswagen Polo GT TSI Suspension Replacement
In the Cartisan Preferred Workshop, The Cartisan Technician parked the Polo GT in the service bay where he lifted it up using a two-post lift.
The technician’s removed the front wheels of the Polo GT TSI. They then disconnected the lower arm from the chassis of the car and the knuckle. They replaced the used lower arm with a brand new one from TRW.
Next, the technicians disconnected the steering ball joint and tie rod ends from the chassis of the Polo GT and replaced them with brand new ones from TRW.
The technicians disconnected the link rods and removed the balance rod bushes. They replaced these with brand new components from TRW.
The strut assembly is connected to the car at one end which is accessed through the engine bay. The other end of the strut is connected to the wheel hub. The technician uses a pneumatic wrench to disconnect the end connected to the engine bay and uses a hammer to disconnect the end connected to the wheel hub. He removes the strut assembly from the car.
The strut assembly consists of the shock absorber, the spring seat, spring, buufer, boot & shock absorber mounting. Except for the spring, Cartisan replaced all the other components with brand new ones from TRW. The shock absorber mounting is manufactured by ECS Tuning.
The Cartisan technicians fit the newly assembled strut assembly back to the Polo GT and secure all the other suspension components. They mount the front wheels back onto the car and lower it to the ground.
The technician took the car to the closest wheel alignment shop for alignment.
The Adviser took the car for a test drive and confirmed that the Cartisan technicians carried out the service successfully.
