Cartisan recently received a service request for a brake overhaul for an Audi Q3. due to the brakes being worn out, the on board computer displayed a warning to the customer that his brakes were due for an overhaul
The customer requested for both the front and rear brake pads to be replaced. A quotation was provided, the parts were procured and the Cartisan Service Team arrived at the customer’s doorstep to carry out the service.
The customer opted for Brembo brake pads for their superior brake pad performance and braking quality.
First, the Cartisan service adviser conducted a series of functional tests against a 50 point Cartisan checklist to confirm the car was in good condition.
The bonnet was popped open and the brake reservoir cap was undone. This is done in order to prevent air bubbles from being trapped in the brake fluid lines.
The car was parked outside the customer’s house and raised up with the help of a hydraulic jack. A stand was placed underneath to ensure the safety of the vehicle.
One by one, the wheels were removed, and the brake calipers were removed. The old brake pads were removed from the brake calipers and replaced with brand new, fancy looking red ones from Brembo.
For the front wheels, a sensor is required. The purpose of this sensor is to warn the driver when the brakes are near the end of their life. This sensor was fitted to the car.
After all the brake pads were replaced the wheels were placed back and the car was lowered to the ground. The car was then taken for a test drive to confirm that the work was carried out successfully.
