A customer recently booked an appointment with Cartisan for a full service for his Hyundai i20. The full service consists of — Engine Oil Replacement, Oil filter replacement, Air filter cleaning, brakes cleaning, coolant top up (up to 1 liter), & a complete vehicle checkup.
At the scheduled date and time, the Cartisan service team arrived at the customer’s location to carry out the service.
After a quick drive test to get a good idea of the car, the work began in the engine bay where the air filter was removed and inspected. The air filter was in good condition and didn’t need to be replaced hence it was cleaned and placed back inside the air filter housing. The battery health was then checked with the help of a multi-meter.
Next, the car was raised up with the help of a hydraulic jack and each of the wheels were removed so that the brakes could be checked and cleaned.
In the front, the brake caliper was opened and the brake pads were removed from them. These brake pads were in good condition and so were cleaned with sand paper and refitted to the brake calipers.
On the rear axle, the brake drum was removed and the brake shoes were cleaned with sand paper.
After the brakes were cleaned, the engine oil was drained out of the car’s engine by unscrewing the engine oil drain nut from underneath the car. After that, the oil filter was removed. for this i20, the oil filter is located underneath the engine block.
The drain nut was screwed back onto the oil sump and then a new oil filter from Bosch was fitted to the engine block.
The coolant was topped up and windscreen wiper fluid shampoo was poured into the wiper wash reservoir.
The car was then lowered to the ground and taken for a test drive to confirm that the work was carried out successfully.
