We’ve been publishing a series about the most diverse cities in America. We have explored the South and the Midwest and now we will travel to the Northeast. This region is one of the most urbanized regions in all of the United States.
We are exploring some of the cities where we can find the most diverse populations. On the Northeast, several cities are known for their diversity, take New York City where millions of immigrants have sailed to or landed in for decades.

This is the fifth most populous city in the United States. On a five mile radius, Philadelphia has a population of 47.2% Black, 8.3% Asian and 44.5% White, out of which 13.7% is Latino.

One of the biggest metropolitan areas in the United States, Baltimore made it to our list as one of the most diverse cities in the Northeast. On a five mile radius, its population is divided in 62% Black, 3% Asian, 35% White, out of which 5.5% is Latino.

The third largest city in Connecticut, Hartford is home to very diverse people. On a five mile radius, it has a population of 36.9% Black, 4.4% Asian and 58.7% White, out of which 34.5% is Latino.

Right after New York City, Buffalo is the second most populous city in the state and it is home to a population made of 42.6% Black, 5.9% Asian and 51.5% White, out of which 12.9% is Latino.

The capital of the United States is the last on our list of diverse cities in the Northeast. This vibrant city’s population is made of33.6% Black, 6.6% Asian and 59.8% White, out of which 12% is Latino.
