Now ladies and gentlemen we will be traveling to an amazing country that is considered to be the best beach city in the entire world, and this city is the only city to receive a royal gold medal due to its outstanding architecture. Yes, ladies and gentlemen we are traveling to Barcelona!

Barcelona has a ton of history that is still alive and surrounding the beautiful city. Our job now is to travel around Barcelona and see what this city has in store for us! The first thing that is always important is finding out what the currency of the country that were traveling to is. So since Spain is in Europe, Spain uses the Euro currency.

As of right now- 1 US Dollar equals 0.87 Euro, but know that this rate changes often.

When traveling Barcelona you of course need transportation, although I must say avoid using the bus turistic, and use the Metro instead.

This metro has 10 lines that go all over Barcelona and even go to the suburban parts of Barcelona. For a single ticket on the Metro costs 2.15 Euros and a single ticket from the airport is 4.10 Euros. Now Barcelona metros have a types of cards to get you through Metro. The first one is the T10 Card which is a card that gives you free access to Zone 1, which are primarily the main tourist areas, buses trams and RENFE train to the airport. The amazing part of the T10 card is that it gives you discounts on tourist attractions and some performance venues and also discounts on Barcelona Turisme official souvenir shop.

Another one is the T-50/30 which is a card that allows you to travel to 50 destinations in 30 days. This is really useful especially if you are a tourist and you are here for a certain amount of time and you want to travel without always paying the metro. The next important thing is that as tourists you want to go on tours. Although before you go on the tour make sure you ask how long the tour will be and where it will be. Ask if you will have free time to tour and see the city by yourselves. Also the the most important thing is ask if the tour is round trip because you want to get back without having to spend more money getting back by yourselves.

When going to famous tourist attractions be careful, because you will spend more than you really would like to. For example, The Picasso Museum might be historical, although it’s not worth it because it is always full with tour groups, other tourists and you will pay an extraordinary amount of money. Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, Virreina Centre de la Imatge, Museu Frederic Marès, etc. Now we switch the topic and go to our favorite thing…Food! Good and affordable places to eat in Barcelona are really good to go to, because you’re able to fill up your stomachs and keep your wallets full. A good bar to go to is called Bar Celta it’s an old-fashioned tapas bar that has been around for 40 years and it’s very popular. Their specials are house tapa which is boiled octopus sprinkled with paprika and served on a wooden platter. The Tapas start from 4 Euros. And their opened from Tuesday-Sunday 8Am-Midnight.

Another place to go to Gelateria Caffetteria Italiana, which is a family-run business and has amazing gelato that they have in a lot of different flavors. Although, the fig flavor is what people say is one of the best. They use pure, organic ingredients, and the ice cream is made everyday. You can get ice cream from 2.40 Euros and their hours are Apr-Oct: Mon-Thu, 2pm-1am; Fri-Sun, 2pm-2am. Nov-Mar: Mon-Thu, 4–9pm; Fri, Sat, 4pm-midnight; Sun, 2pm-9pm. And lastly a really good burger place to go to is called Kiosko, which has huge burgers to munch on. Their famous burger is called the Suiza, which has potato rosti and Gruyère. These burgers fill you up plenty and make sure that you had a good meal. The burgers start from 5.50 Euros and their hours are 1pm-1am.

Barcelona is an amazing city that has as much history as it has adventure! So fly over and enjoy the beautiful modern and ancient aspects of the city intertwine. Well I hope you had a wonderful time reading my blog and I hope you enjoy your trip to wonderful Barcelona! See you on our next trip!

-Toodles!
