Dr Bernard Lietaer, our Strategic Advisor, has passed away.

It is with great sadness that we announce that one of the world’s greatest monetary thinkers, Dr Bernard Lietaer, our Strategic Advisor, has passed away on Monday.

Dr Lietaer was active in the realm of monetary systems for nearly 4 decades. He was well-known as the “Architect of the Euro” for designing the ECU, while he was at the Central Bank of Belgium.

Dr Lietaer believed in cryptocurrency and blockchain technology contributing to social equity, sustainability, as well as fulfilling the need for competing currencies to achieve economic stability.
