Since our inception, CasperLabs has been on a mission to explore what blockchain’s next frontier will look like. Carrying the torch forward and building off of the pioneers of our industry today, we’ve set some big, ambitious goals for both our technology and the team behind it.

As we’ve progressed through milestone after milestone over the course of the last year, we wanted to take some time to highlight the support behind our project and take a moment to share with the community the rationale behind the support.

In lieu of this, we would like to introduce you to our new Why CasperLabs series. In this special series, you will be hearing from a circle of luminaries, innovators, and leaders on why they have joined our community of builders and what excites them the most about CasperLabs.

To kick off this series, we’d like to introduce you to James Haft, Founder & CEO of PALcapital. James has been at the forefront of the global emerging markets of merchant banking, investment banking, and venture capital industries for over 30 years. Hear what James has to say below:

Hi! I’m James Haft, I’m the CEO and Founder of PALcapital, a merchant bank focused exclusively on ledger technologies. About a year ago, I joined the Casper Community and became an advisor. This was an easy decision, because I’ve been looking for platforms that can deliver on the promise of decentralization, peer to peer communication and wisdom of the crowd. The first generation of blockchains that we’re all familiar with, Bitcoin, Ethereum, etc, are proof of concept and show we should be excited, but they don’t deliver on the promise because they’re too slow and not secure enough and not scalable. What we need is a next generation of scalable, fast and secure platforms, which are reliable and trustworthy for development of great industrial solutions. CasperLabs is developing a platform for exactly that purpose. They are leveraging the success of Ethereum platform and delivering a solution that can be used in the real world. I’ve known the founders and the management of CasperLabs for over 2 years and I’ve worked with them on several projects and I know they are the right team to bring this product to market.
