To start, you will need to make sure that your brand name is:
- Legal: make sure it does not infringe on any trademarks
- Available: the name is not the same or similar to another company
- Is not contrary to public interest
- Does not contain a combination of English letters and Chinese characters

Once you’ve come up with a brand name, start setting up your company website. It is recommended to check if your considered business name is also available as a web domain with the most common domain extension, such as ‘.com.hk’.

After deciding on your desired business name, you must make sure it can be officially used to proceed with the next steps- for the application of an Employment Agency License.
To confirm if the name can be used for application, you must send the proposed name of your company and your number to the Employment Agencies Administration(EAA) of the Labour Department by email (e-mail: ea-ee@labour.gov.hk).
